MDO refers to the machine direction stretching, namely longitudinal stretch.In MDO process, the film is extruded then stretched several times in machine direction, which gives it a shrink index. A.Preheating
Film enters the MDO stretching unit and is evenly preheated to a required temperature.
B.Stretching
Film is nipped between a series of rollers revolving at various speeds for stretching.
C.Annealing
Film is stabilized, and its altered properties are locked and retained.
D.Cooling
Film is cooled to near room temperature.
